REBlogWorld in Las Vegas

It has been a while since posting here. I'm at blogworld and new media expo in las vegas this bright morning.

It isn't entirely true about it being the city that never sleeps. It just goes to bed very early in the morning.

San Clemente Beach

Drove over to San Clemente today. Always wanted to spend a day at the beach. Sunset soon. For now it is surfer time. Get the swimmers out of the water.

Right after the storm

Cooler and the sound of water dripping from the eves.

Nice to finally have an evening to sit out for a few minutes.

Barrel Cactus Bloom Time

The Monsoon season rains have begun. This signals the barrel cactus which quickly respond and push out new blossoms.

Some of last year's fruit still remains attached as this years cycle of life mingles with the last.

Before Ronald There was Speedee

Yes, little ones Speedee pre-dates the famous clown and company as the mascot for our favorite burger place.

Not to be confused with the foaming Speedy who's name sounds the same but is spelled different.

Today on my tray was more than the usual mcmuffin and coffee.

I guess the crew thought I needed a Monday morning pickup.

Iron Fire Ant

There's a family of these hanging around the fire pit on the back patio.

Not your typical fire ants, these thrive where it is hot, hotter, hottest.

They don't bite, but don't pick one up. You might (will) get burned. Don't let them fool you.

Don't say you haven't been warned.

Truck Sandwich

Road trip today. Delivering a Yukon to El Paso from Tucson. I'm the follow vehicle. Cut off by an 18 wheeler passing an 18 wheeler with another 18 wheeler three feet from my back bumper. All going 75 mph.

What am I doing? Taking pictures and mobile blogging all at the same time. Ye Ha!

African Daisies Dancing in the Wind

Spring time in the desert brings a lot of flowers to bloom. African daisies are one of the most colorful varieties.

Thursday Golf Anyone ?

I don't play golf. I used to play golf but now I only get to watch a little while showing homes bear golf courses.

I still enjoy the green and the views.

Clouds that aren't vapor trails are always a welcome sight.

Pots & Palms

I'm a sucker for good stone work. I like the rich earth tones of stone work and the varied hues of color in stone seem more dimentional and natural than brick.

Contrast all this with a big yellow pot and a green palm and you end up with a scene that calms the spirit and feeds the soul.

Snow on the Tortalitas

Woke up this morning to snow down to the 3000 foot level. Low enough to cover the Tortalitas with a sugar coating.

End of the Rainbow

The rain bow ended in Oro Valley this evening.

I've never seen the end of one before where it reached to the ground till now.

It was amazing.

Certified Dairy Tour Ready

Shamrock Farms End of Tour

Grab some milk, ice cream or the newest sports drink Rock & Refuel.

Milk It Does A Body Good

Chocolate milk does NOT come from Swiss Brown Cows!

Did you know that?

Plastic Cows provide the Jugs

Plastic cows are a necessary part of any dairy.

They provide the Plastic to make the jugs to put the milk in for the "real" cows.
Here we go. Tour about to begin.

Shamrock Farms Tour

Wow didn't realize it would smell like cows! : )

Time for Lunch In-N-Out.

Going for a burger before heading to the Dairy is better than heading to the cattle ranch.

Well it is.

Parrots Parrots Parrots

This was the highlight of the morning. Parrots everywhere, on the arms, on your head, in your hands.

Like old friends from school you haven't seen in a long time.

Hint: Go early they are really hungry. And the risk of ... You know is greatly diminished. But once they have had a few cups of nectar you will be fair game for target practice.

The Burros

He mugged a close up. But this one shows just how small these little guys are.

They have a gentler nature than an ostrich. They like to have a good scratch on the head. And they will return the favor with a nice sticky lick of the hand.

Feeding the ostrich

This is not a gentle sport. More like throw the feed at the pan and whatever you do don't get too close.
They aren't cute and they will swallow a Blackberry like it was a piece of fruit.

The start of the day

We begin our day with a trip up I-10 to picacho peak and the ostrich farm

Oregano's Pizza

Like stepping back in time. Literally, Fred is dancing on an old black and white tv.

Next Red Skelton is doing a monologue. The menus and decor are right out of the 50's.

The pizza is hot and the seat so soft and plush you wonder if you will be able to get up or if you should just order another pizza.

New Year's Day 2009 Tucson

It is New Years Day here in sunny Tucson. The temp is 75 and people are sitting on patios.

Flowers are blooming and the bees only know it is another day to fly, gather pollen and make the world a better place.

I like the economy of bees.
